Permission to work at 3am (or whenever you want)

Have you ever found yourself WIDE awake at 3am with a zillion business ideas flying through your head? Even if you’ve only been at this freelance / biz thing for a week, I bet you’ve already had one of these nights!

This was me last week. After a full (not busy coz I don’t use that word anymore!) week and lots of focus on some new projects that I’m working on, my head was all over the place.

Find out what I did to get back on track in the video below…

Do you find yourself riding the extreme highs and lows in your business?

Or have you managed to find a system to bring more equanimity to your life?

I’d love to hear your experiences in the comments.

Vari, you are such a spunk! Love your videos. I have to do the same, so often by 9pm my mind is “on” and I can not shut it down. The house is quiet and I feel like I am in the right frame of mind to work. I blame years in hospitality, that ended years ago, however its often when I find clarity. I like you don’t fight it, I surrender and tell myself that once I get it all out, I can rest and have a great sleep. These sleepless nights happen less and less now, and I’m sure that is because I don’t fight it when it does happen, just go with it. Fab post, thanks you dear heart. <3

      Thanks, Louisa! xx

Totally hear you – we’re so conditioned to think that we have to do certain things at a certain time.

I love that you use the word ‘fight’ – that’s EXACTLY what it feels like!

A battle with ourselves. Here’s to giving up the fight!

Great video. I think I really needed to hear your message about just letting myself off the hook. I find I really beat myself over the head to get work done sometimes when I really just want to take a break. For me its the fear of projects not getting done on time, the what-ifs, losing a client, not having enough work and just wanting to keep up the high standards I set for myself.

Like you, I’ve been looking towards introducing some more calm into my freelance life to balance it all out.

    Keep up the great work!
